The Minor in Community and Environmental Sustainability is intended to supplement any major at Alvernia, establishing connections across disciplines and preparing students to incorporate sustainable thinking and practices into a variety of future careers. This minor also provides a natural link to Alvernia’s Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) Community Leadership Program emphasizing leadership for sustainable communities.
Required coursework:
- BIO 203 Biosphere
- BIO 230 Sustainability Principles & Practices
- BIO 340 Sustainability Field Experience
Elective coursework:
- Nine more credits will be chosen from among the following three areas: (a) Science-Environmental, (b) Socio-cultural, and (c) Business-Economics.
