Reading, Pa. – Â鶹ÊÓƵ has been named a Military Friendly ® School for the seventh consecutive year and for 2019 is one of the only approximately 25% of schools nationwide to receive the designation for meeting university-wide benchmarks in areas such as student retention, graduation and job placement as well as for being in good standing with federal programs such as the Post-9/11 GI Bill and Armed Forces Tuition Assistance Funding.
Each year, a new list of is provided to service members and their families, helping them select the best college, university or trade school to receive the education and training needed to pursue a civilian career.
The Military Friendly ® Schools list is created based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide and responses to a proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly ® Schools survey. In addition, this year marks the first time that student survey data was considered for the designation.
Methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by VIQTORY, the organization that oversees the Military Friendly ® Schools program, with input from the Military Friendly ® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community.
Last academic year, 25 Alvernia students utilized the Post-9/11 GI Bill. Along with tuition assistance and various other benefits, military service members may apply for federal assistance. A list of resources and benefit information can be found on Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Veterans Benefits webpage.
