Interactive program pairs Alvernia鈥檚 DPT department with Lauer鈥檚 Park Elementary students
First-year students in Alvernia鈥檚 Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program demonstrated the importance of movement and exercise to fourth-grade students at Lauer鈥檚 Park Elementary School through an interactive program called Power in Motion.
鈥淲e are always looking for ways to increase awareness of physical therapy as a profession to those who might not have been exposed to it and give back to our local community,鈥 said Alvernia Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy James O鈥橠onohue. 鈥淭his was our opportunity to do both and I think the program went very well and our students enjoyed themselves, particularly through the interaction with the students from Lauer鈥檚 Park.鈥
